Coverage built specifically for custom and modified trucks.
Standard auto policies pay depreciated book value and ignore your modifications. We build agreed value programs designed for custom builds, lifted trucks, show vehicles, and every aftermarket dollar you've put into your truck.

The coverage gaps that cost custom truck owners the most.
Most carriers quote a lifted or custom truck on a standard auto policy, ignore the modifications, and pay ACV at claim time — which means you lose the lift kit, the wheels, the custom work, and the investment. We underwrite the truck as it actually sits.
Built for truck culture
Contractors Choice Agency was founded in 2005 by people who understand specialty vehicles and what's at stake when a claim hits and the carrier cites a standard-value exclusion. We know custom trucks aren't standard vehicles.
Agreed value — not depreciated ACV
Standard auto pays what a stock truck is worth today, minus depreciation. Agreed value pays the full insured amount you chose at policy time — including the build.
Parts and accessories riders that cover the mods
Stock auto policies cap accessories at $1,000. We add riders that cover your lift kit, wheels, tires, suspension, audio, custom paint, and every aftermarket part at replacement cost.
Show truck and event coverage
Show trucks need coverage while in transit to events and on display. We add event coverage that standard policies don't contemplate — for show trucks and display vehicles.
Frame-off builds and restomods insured correctly
Custom builds and restomods have no book value. We use agreed value to set the right number for the build and hold it there regardless of depreciation.
Fleet and business programs
Custom truck dealerships, upfitters, and shops need more than personal auto. We build fleet programs for custom truck businesses with dealer lot, in-shop, and fleet-use coverage.
Run by people who know specialty vehicles
Josh Cotner founded CCA in 2005 with a background in the trades and specialty operations. We know what it means when a carrier's ACV payout doesn't rebuild what you built.
From quote request to bound policy in about a day.
No two-week back-and-forth. A real conversation, real specialty markets, and a program built around your truck's actual value — not what a computer says a stock version is worth.
Tell us about your truck
15-min call or form. Year, make, model, modification list, lift height, parts value, show use, and what your old carrier was paying you — or not paying.
We shop specialty markets
Niche carriers that actually write agreed value on custom and modified trucks — not standard auto markets that ignore your build and pay ACV.
Bind coverage at the real value
Agreed value + parts rider + show truck coverage, coordinated so there are no gaps between the vehicle, the mods, and the events.

Custom truck insurance, in plain English.
A custom or modified truck typically needs agreed value or stated value coverage (so the mods are included), a parts and accessories rider for aftermarket upgrades, and liability coverage. Show trucks need additional event coverage. Trucks used for business or fleet use need commercial coverage on top of that.
It depends on the truck's agreed value, modification list, how the truck is used (daily driver, show, storage), your driving record, and your state. A daily-driver lifted truck may cost a few hundred a year more than a stock vehicle; a high-value show truck or frame-off build runs more. We quote your actual truck in about 15 minutes.
Agreed value means the insurer agrees to pay the full stated amount at total loss — no depreciation argument. Stated value sets a maximum but allows the insurer to pay ACV if lower. For custom and modified trucks, agreed value is the better option because it actually pays what the build is worth.
Usually no, or barely. Standard auto policies typically exclude aftermarket modifications or cap accessory coverage at $1,000. A lift kit, wheels, suspension, and audio can run $10,000–$40,000 or more. Without a parts and accessories rider, those losses aren't covered.
Only with agreed value coverage. Under a standard ACV policy, the insurer pays the current market value of a stock equivalent truck — ignoring the lift, the wheels, the custom work, and everything that makes your truck worth more. Agreed value pays the full insured amount.
Yes — and it requires agreed value coverage because these trucks have no standard book value. We insure frame-off builds, restomods, and specialty builds at an agreed value that reflects the cost of the build and the parts, not a depreciated stock vehicle.
With the right endorsement, yes. Show truck coverage adds protection while your truck is in transit to events and on display — exposures that standard auto ignores. We add show truck and event coverage for display vehicles.
A parts and accessories rider extends your auto policy to cover aftermarket modifications — lift kits, wheels, tires, suspension, audio, custom paint, bed accessories, winches, and more — at their replacement cost. If you've put more than $1,000 in aftermarket parts on your truck, you need one.
Yes — lowered, slammed, and air-ride builds face the same coverage gap as lifted trucks. Standard carriers decline or exclude the modifications. We place agreed value coverage for lowered builds including air bags, spindles, C-notched frames, and custom suspension.
Yes. Dually trucks used as personal vehicles are a common gap — commercial carriers want fleet use, personal carriers want standard vehicles. We place programs for personal-use duallies that reflect the vehicle's actual configuration and value.
We have specialty and E&S markets for trucks declined over modification level, build value, show use, or prior loss history. Bring us what you have — we place coverage other carriers won't write.
It depends on the policy form. Some agreed value policies include transport; others require an inland marine or transport endorsement. We confirm the transport coverage so your truck is insured whether it's driven to a show or trailered.
Yes. Work trucks with toolboxes, bed upfits, lift kits, or commercial modifications often fall through the gap between personal auto and commercial auto. We place programs that account for the actual configuration and use.
Yes. We write fleet programs for custom truck dealerships, upfitter shops, and businesses that operate modified truck fleets — covering vehicles in inventory, in-shop builds, and fleet vehicles in service.
Yes. Contractors Choice Agency is licensed in all 50 states and writes custom and modified truck insurance anywhere in the country. Show truck coverage applies in any state where you drive or display the truck.
At a total loss, the insurer pays the agreed value stated on your policy — no depreciation, no negotiation about the stock value of a base model. That's the difference: you set the value upfront and the carrier agrees to pay it.
Year, make, model, a list of modifications with approximate values, lift height if applicable, how the truck is used (daily, show, storage), current agreed or market value, and your driving record and current insurer. The more detail, the more accurate the quote.
Often we can add show truck coverage and agreed value to an existing auto policy with a rider. For very high-value builds or trucks stored separately from daily drivers, a standalone collector or specialty auto policy may be cleaner.
Possibly — and more importantly, you need to report modifications to keep coverage accurate. If you add significant parts after the policy is written, the agreed value should be updated so a loss is paid at the new value, not the old one.
Often yes. Bundling a daily driver, show truck, and any fleet vehicles under one coordinated program is usually cheaper and cleaner than separate policies — and ensures there are no coverage gaps between vehicles at claim time.
Protect Your Custom Truck with agreed value coverage built for the build.
Whether you need an agreed value policy today or a full program — parts riders, show truck coverage, fleet insurance, and aftermarket protection — one call gets you real quotes from specialty markets. Not a standard auto form and a depreciated payout.
